Marcie Tyler
Ballet
A native Californian, Marcie started dancing at the age of 3 and has been trained in many styles of dance including ballet, jazz, tap and hip-hop. Specializing in ballet and going on pointe at 12, she began intensive training at the Villa Park Ballet Company under the instruction of Jonette Rettig and Cecille Klein. Marcie was then accepted to the San Francisco City Ballet. She has danced in such ballets as The Nutcracker and Danse Macabre as well as stage productions of Oklahoma and Forty-Second Street for the Orange County Philharmonic Society. She has studied different ballet styles and methods including French School of Ballet, Royal Academy of Dance and Cecchetti. She graduated with a BA from UCLA with an emphasis on theater and film. She was principal dancer for the Woodland Hills Ballet Company. She taught ballet classes at the Jeanne Michaux Dance Company in Orange County and taught ballet classes at the Classical Ballet School in Los Angeles. Most recently she co-choreographed Diamond Jubilee for the 60th Anniversary Performance for the Woodland Hills Ballet.
