Sara Silkin
Adult Ballet Barre, Contemporary Jazz, Lyrical
Sara Silkin received her BFA at UCLA with an emphasis in Dance and
Choreography.
During her studies she had the privilege of working and training with
distinguished modern choreographers: David Rousseve, Victoria Marks, and
Maria Gillespie. Sara has taught contemporary at the Centre de Danse du
Marais in Paris, and Movement for Actors at the Sydney Theater School in
Australia. She can be seen in commercials for Samsung, Days of our Lives,
and Converse. She has choreographed for: L.A Fashion Week, Minus the Bear ("My Time" Music Video) and the Ahimsa Collective. She has most recently presented work at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles. Along with teaching, she continues to pursue her career in dance
performance. She was selected to perform in award-winning Israeli
choreographer Idan Cohen's piece "A Day in a Fish Life" and has performed
with various Los Angeles based dance companies: Collage Dance theater,
Invertigo Dance Theater, IN/EX, and Los Angeles Movement Arts. Sara is
excited to learn video skills, experiment with paint, and continue to smile
along the way.
