Mizuho Sato
Flamenco
Born in Japan, Mizuho started dancing classical ballet at age 4 and began receiving awards. When she was 17, she studied at the Royal Ballet Academy in London to become a professional ballet dancer. Upon entering the University, Mizuho fell in love with Flamenco. By the next year she was in Seville, Spain, taking classes from prestigious instructors like Javier Cruz and Alicia Marquez. After her studies, she returned to Tokyo to perform, and received awards from the Japanese Flamenco Association and the Ambassador of Spain. Shortly afterward, Mizuho started teaching in Tokyo and in her hometown, Iwate. She developed classes of Flamenco history and music for further comprehension while participating in the International Tour of Manuel Reyas and Company.
After more intensive study in Spain, she moved to Los Angeles to join guitarist Jose Tanaka's Soniquete Flamenco, and also began teaching. Since then, Mizuho has taught and performed all over Southern California and has recently returned from her third time studying in Spain, including intense classes from Familia Farruco. Mizuho strives to improve her skills and looks forward to spreading her passion to all.
